Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center, located in the south-central Adirondack Mountains of New York, will host its two-day annual open house and sale, Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29 from 9:00 am-4:30 pm. Visitors are invited to tour the Finnish-style four-season vacation center which is celebrating its 31st winter season!
The open house features two-for-one facility use passes for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and ice-skating. If there is no snow, guests are welcome to enjoy complimentary hiking on the resort’s 50km private trail system.
Door prizes include facility use passes, lessons, rentals and “Ski Like A Finn” lesson packages (including trail pass, rentals and group ski lesson). The grand prize is a two-night, three-day stay in one of the resort’s tupas (cozy housekeeping cottages) during the upcoming winter season. The lodging package, which is valid non-holiday midweek nights) includes use of ski and snowshoe trails, ice-skating pond, tubing hills, 50 percent off a group lesson per person, and use of the Finnish wood-burning sauna.
Select cross country ski equipment, ski packages, clothing and accessories will be offered at discounted prices. Lapland Lake’s owner-operator, former U.S. Olympian Olavi Hirvonen, and his carefully trained staff will offer assistance in proper equipment selection and sizing.
Free beverages and cookies will be available at the resort’s welcoming Tuulen Tupa Grill. Lunch selections will also be offered for sale.
Season pass memberships will be available at normally reduced early-season rates; regular season pass rates go into effect Monday, December 1.
The resort’s two domesticated reindeer, Viima and Talvi, will welcome visitors at their lakeside home.
A complete cross country ski and snowshoe facility, Lapland Lake offers fully equipped rental and retail shops, a comfortable warming lodge with snack bar, a trailside restaurant and overnight accommodations in private housekeeping cottages. The trail system has 50km of trails for all ability levels. Other activities include ice-skating, tubing, sledding, kicksledding and wilderness ski touring.
